Fun Day Outside

A couple of weeks ago we had a few days that were in the 100's. It has since cooled down but it was a grim reminder that summer is quickly coming to the desert! :( Once it cooled down a bit, I decided that I really needed to take advantage of the nice weather and go outside before we are cooped up for the summer. So Emma & I had some fun playing outside last week.

We walked to the park on Thursday and before eating lunch she went for a little swing. It was kind of bright for her though so I couldn't really get her to smile.

When she was done swinging we went over and sat under a tree while she ate her lunch. She definitely enjoyed the picnic.

And the hot weather was good for one thing. It warmed our pool up enough (since it's too expensive for us to heat) so that we could go swimming!

It was a great day!

Emma's First Happy Meal

About 2 weeks ago I decided that it was time for Emma to have her very first Happy Meal. Although she still doesn't have teeth, there are some foods that she can have. So off we went and were so happy and suprised to have Daddy meet us there to experience this with us. I had asked him that morning if he would be jealous or sad if he missed it and he told me he didn't care, but as the morning went on I guess he changed his mind, so yeah for us!!

We ordered a chicken nugget Happy Meal with apple juice and apple dippers. I ordered an extra side of fries too 'cause I LOVE them! :) Emma couldn't eat the nuggets so I did, but she was able to have a little bit of everything else. She LOVED her juice and the apple dippers. I even let her suck a little bit of the carmel sauce off of them. She was only able to suck on the apples so I ate most of them, but she had a good time. And of course I had to let her have her very first french fry! It was a very fun lunch.

Easter

This year was Emma's first Easter and we think that she thought it was a pretty cool holiday. As soon as she woke up she got to open her Easter basket that the Easter Bunny left for her.

She was a very happy girl! She got to suck on her bottle shaped candy and try out her new sippy cup that has a straw on it!! :)

After Easter baskets it was time to get ready for church. Here she is in her Easter dress. Unfortunately she was being a bit cranky at the time so we only got one good picture.

After church and a nap we had to get ready for our Easter dinner. We were joined by our neighbor and two of our good friends. I had to change Emma out of her Easter dress so she wouldn't ruin it, but she got to pretend to be a little bunny! :)

She had a fun filled day and she is already looking forward to next Easter!! Haha!!

Eight Months Old!

Okay, so I know I have totally been slacking with my updates lately. I blame it partly to my new addiction to Farm Town. But, the wait is over and here are some new updates on our girl - you won't be disappointed!

So April 8, was Emma's 8 month birthday and to celebrate we took her to Disneyland! Okay, we did go to Disneyland but not for her birthday. My parents were in town and wanted to go and it just happened that we went on Emma's 8 month birthday. Dave & I would never have thought to take her at such a young age just for her, but since we were all going it was soooo fun to see Disneyland through her eyes! Of course she is too young to appreciate the true magic of Disneyland, but she had a really good time and so did we. Our tickets allow us to go back within 30 days and so we are really looking forward to our next trip

Here she is on It's A Small World which was probably her favorite ride. She absolutely loved it and even though Dave & I despise the ride we will definitely go back again just for her!

A cute picture with Daddy:

We were finally able to go on the new Finding Nemo ride which is really the old submarine ride with a few changes. She really liked that too! The pictures are a little bit fuzzy because of course we weren't allowed to use flash photography on the ride.

And of course we had to get her Micky Ears:

And here she settling in to sleep listening to her favorite CD with her new Disney Princess CD Player! She was really cute!

She was such a good girl the whole day long and although I'm sure she's forgotten all about it by now, she really seemed to have a good time and thorougly enjoyed herself!

She still hasn't been to the Dr. since her 6 month checkup - she goes in at 9 months so I weighed her and measured her at home again. She is still approximately 16 pounds according to our scale and she's now 26 1/4 inches. She is definitely getting bigger. She's not crawling yet, but we are expecting it any day now. She can lift her bottom into the air and rock back and forth. This morning she even crawled/scooted backwards - it was so funny!! :)

Well, she is up from her nap now which is much earlier than I anticipated so I don't have time to make another post right now. I will do my best to get caught up by the end of the day though so keep checking back in for more fun with Emma! :)
