Pool Time & Visit With Uncle Jake

So this past week my brother and 4 of his buddies from school came down to visit for their Spring Break. It was very fun to have such a full house and lots of people around all the time. Since they were here for the sun, they spent a lot of time outside and decided to do a lot of playing in our pool. Now, I personally think the pool is still a little bit too cold, but they had a great time in it. So Emma & I decided to give it a try. I went in for about 5 minutes and she decided it was too cold for her so she floated around in her little ducky. It was shortlived, but enjoyable.

Here we are together floating around. It's a little bit bright for her, but the sun hat helped a lot!

After we got out of the pool, we decided to just sit in the grass and dry out for a little while. Uncle Jake was a little bit scary for her, but she survived! :)

St. Patrick's Day

I know I'm a couple of weeks behind, but here is our darling daughter on her very first St. Patrick's Day. We didn't do anything out of the ordinary to celebrate, but she looked very cute. We thought about taking her out for a green beer, but decided against that option! :) All the pictures I took of her are cute, so I'm going to post them all. Enjoy!

Playing With Toys - Part 2

I missed a couple of pictures that I meant to post in the earlier post. I thought about just letting it go, but they are just too cute. Here she is playing with toys (or chewing on them) and reading the paper with Dave - one of her most favorite things to do!

Seven Months Old!

Sunday was Emma's 7 month birthday! Wow, she is coming up on a year sooooooooo fast! We went to church in the morning and she had her second chance at trying out the nursery. It didn't go so well, but we are going to keep trying. She is okay for a little bit but then she just starts crying and no one can calm her down so they have to page me. As soon as I show up she is perfectly fine again - little stinker! Dave ended up having go to work for a few hours that afternoon so Emma and I just hung around the house like we do every day, but when Dave got home we took a walk to the park. Emma got to swing in the baby swing by herself for the very first time! She was amused but it didn't take long before she had had enough and was ready to get out. Then we went and sat on the grass for awhile - it was very pleasant.

I weighed her and measured her at home today. Since her 6 month checkup was a couple of weeks late there hasn't been a whole lot of change, but she is probably almost 16 pounds and maybe 25 1/3 inches long.

She has been feeling a little under the weather for the past couple of days. She has been sleeping a lot and not too interested in playing. She just wants to be held and held and held. She doesn't seem to have a fever or any cold symptoms so we're just keeping an eye on her. Maybe she is about to get her teeth - FINALLY. But pray for her that she starts to feel better! :)

Here are a couple of pictures from Sunday. She is sitting in the papazon chair - so cute!

Playing With Toys

Since Emma learned to sit up about a month ago she has been having a lot more fun playing with toys. It's a lot easier for her to reach for things now and she really seems to be enjoying her new ability! :) I've been taking a lot of pictures and just thought I'd share.

Here she is pulling toys out of her basket:

Sitting in her exersaucer and loving posing for pictures:

Last week I took her to Toys R Us to buy her some foam mat puzzle pieces and foam blocks. It's softer for her to fall on than the tile in our house and she has a lot of fun knocking stacks of blocks over.
